General users just want a damn tool to write their journals and notes, without bothered with tons of markdowns. There are work arounds, but I'd like to get the community's thoughts. Does anyone here use Linux I like the simplicity of it and all, but there is not an Evernote Client for Linux.

Except for using winetricks to install gdiplus, none of the other wine settings were successful. nah, better stay with evernote 5.8 run on wine. Using Wine, Evernote could not connect to the internet. For Evernote, people reccommend 5.8.13, which you can get here. There will generally be a recent version that people recommend, which is not always the latest version.
I know that there are some linux native alternatives, but I find the official client WAY better. It's worth getting some tips from other people using the same program you're interested in installing.
